Angeles Crest Cruise, Sunday May 15th!

Time for our yearly Angeles Crest Cruise! This is the best cruise of the year, don't miss it!

The plan is to meet up at Vons in Tujunga at 11:45a.m. The address is:

7789 Foothill Blvd
Tujunga, CA 91042

We'll leave the lot at 12:30p.m.

Here is the route we will take. The front half of Angeles Crest is closed, so we're taking Big Tujunga to Upper Big Tujunga and then to Angeles Crest. We took this route last year and it was beautiful with basically no traffic

After we finish up on Angeles Crest, we're going to go to Fuddruckers at the Ontario Mills Mall for a late lunch/early dinner. The address for Fuddruckers is:

4423 E Mills Cir
Ontario, CA 91764

We had over 60 cars at GMR last month, and I'm hoping to beat that for Angeles Crest. See you all on the 15th! Original thread and info updated here.

I'm gonna end up probably doing this run rather than SOW :( My car is just not track ready and I can't afford to screw up my daily driver right now.

ACH doesn't currently go all the way through because of this:

Because of that, I'm changing the route to this. Times will remain the same. Original thread here. See you all on Sunday!

I hate to add to any more possible confusion regarding you're cruise route, but I think there are some issues with your most recent post / pics.

The washout pics above are old shots taken up near Islip Saddle between Newcomb's and Wrighwood. That area has been repaired for a long time.

The current closure is simply between LaCanada (Just above the 210 Fwy) and the southern intersection with the Angeles Forest Hwy.

Your original route would still work.

That said, there is one thing that I would change; You may want or need to eliminate the section of Upper Big Tujunga Cyn. This is due to it being repaved.

So, to make this work as originally planned, and still be a great route, simply do this;

Take Sunland to Big Tujunga, up to the Angeles Forest Hwy, turn right and follow it until it intersects with the Angeles Crest Hwy (turning left at the closure) and then just follow it up and over all the way past Newcomb's through Wrightwood and up to the 138 back down to the Cajon Pass at the 15.

I hope that makes sense. It really is not that complicated and it is a great drive or ride that allows your original start and end points.

One of our Members drove it last weekend and said the 2 was closed before it hooked up with the 138 and he had to turn around

Hmm. I guess he would know.

I just went by today and Upper Big Tujunga is closed.

I haven't personally seen or heard of the upper end of the Crest being closed for quite a while.

Let me see what I can find.
