I hear ya Bro . . . Honestly, I drive normal most of the time . . . but every once in a while the Camaro pins its ears back for a short sprint.

Well ladies and gents the new McLeod RXT Twin HD clutch is in and the car shifts quiet as a church mouse. The old Centerforce served it's day but it was fried. The old clutch pic is a bit blurry, but you can see it was smoked:
Now I just have to complete 500 miles of easy (normal) street driving and it cant be highway, so I need a lot of stopping/starting stuff. Shop says that what I do in the next 500 miles will go a long way toward how the clutch will fare over the long haul, so I am being careful!

This is when a host of my good friends will chime in beating the tranny upgrade to a 4L80E or TH400, and honestly they are right, but I want to do it with a stick

You have plenty in that monster. As for shifting. Us ole timers can still do it when we need to. Its been done plenty of times. That Hot Rod you have will run just about whatever your tires and suspension will plant. Mop a little extra VHT down. Put coca cola on your tires or whatever you have to do. That beast will run some 9s. Back to the shop or me. Finally have some parts. Brace for impact as these theories meat reality. HA! |

Yes sir . . . I get lucky every once in a while and hit my shifts like a pro. Actually, after I get my first run jitters out of the way, my second and third runs are typically the best of the session. I have been to the track with the car 6-8 times now and every session is a learning experience.
About 2 years and 400 HP ago my best time was 12.19 I added 100 HP (well, thought I did but was getting bad SC belt slip) and ran 11.8 Then I added 150 HP and BMR Drag Suspension package in December 2017 and ran 10.54 Now I have added another 150 HP, 15" bead locks in the rear, and a new clutch so we will eventually see how it goes. I am looking forward to it!
