0-60 Times
Okay, so I know it's the 60-160 MPH that counts, but just for fun those of you how have track tested your modded SS what's your best 0-60 time?
Thanks

0-60 is hard to get an acurate time.
I have always used an accelerometer device. My iPhone does pretty good. Certainly acurate against it's self. I suspect the 0-60mph is a tad slow. Best I got was 4.9 and it measured within a tenth of the video time. Video time you can video the IP as you start out. And cut the video at both ends to get your time. Both pretty good ways to tell for us. Not sure how else to measure it. Anyway, the 4.9 best I got was before the headers, exhaust and intake with tune. After was unfortunately the same. Even seemed slower, BUT, more wheel slip. Wheel slip when running 0-60s kill your time even more that in the quarter mile. Since I installed the blower I haven't broken 5 seconds in a 0-60 mph run. I'm sure I did in Phoenix on the drag strip with the DRs on the car, but my wheels just won't grip the street. My street tire quarter mile is easily faster. But my 0-60 mph, on street tires, is slower. |

I used an app called DynoMaster on my Droid X and got a 4.8 0-60 with the mods in my sig. It was on the street so I had a little wheel slippage and I didn't shift into 2nd as fast as I would have at the track, so I'm sure I could drop a 10th or 2 off the time. I also don't have a tune yet, so eliminating the torque management could help the 0-60 time. Not sure how accurate the thing is though, as it said my 1/8 mile time/mph was 8.6 @ 91mph. Seems like it recorded a little late...

yes that device is the accelerometer device I used for testing, I think it's called matrix or something like that. You can use iPhone as well but you have to mount the iphone so it doesn't move to get accurate times.
re: 500HP that's at the wheels. I haven't tried since last summer maybe I will make some more runs to see if I can improve the time. It's all about the launch and easing into the throttle. |

I wonder if a 60' or 1000' time on a time slip can be used to estimate a 0-60mph?
