What Low Profile, Lightweight jack are you guys using?
So I plan to lower the Camaro on some Pfadt drop springs, but my jack is already maxed out as far as being able to jack up the Camaro... so what kind of lightweight, low profile jacks are you guys using? I've looked around before and it seemed that most of the Craftsman's have a terrible reputation, and while I considered just going to Harbor Freight, I've always been a big proponent of you get what you pay for...
Suggestions?

Harbor freight has great jacks. I have one of their aluminum 1.5ton jacks. That one is awesome! Wait for it to go on sale. I also have their steel low profile 2.5ton. Very heavy but nice as well. You really won't need a low profile unless you are really slammed.

I have an aluminum racing jack from OTC, but also some 3" race ramps that will allow a bulkier jack to be used.

No one really makes a "good" jack anymore. I don't have much trust in any of them... All Chinese made junk.
Anyone know if it's even possible to get a quality USA-made jack anymore? I hear even Snap On floor jacks are Chinese now.

I also have the Pittsburgh Tools low-profile, quick-lift 3 ton jack from Harbor Freight. $125 I think.
I've used it like 10 times now since October '12. One of the few I could find low enough to get under the car. Seems good. |

I got the 2 ton aluminum racing jack from harbor freight today... seems pretty solid. They had a low profile one, but it was heavy as sh*t and didn't look as stout.

I've got an old Craftsman 3 ton that's been working for probably 15 years. Never one single problem with it.
Unfortunately it doesn't fit under the ZL1, so I bought this 2 ton aluminum jack from HF. I think I paid $29 for a 1 year warranty too. So far so good with it, used it twice in the last month. |
