I also wish the design had been more progressive, but for what it is, it's pretty nice. It's a cleaner, more athletic looking design than the 5th gen. And the interior is a home run.

I'm holding out hope 7th gen will return to the sleek designs of the 3rd/4th gen.

What's up fellas? Just wanted to make my 5,000th post in the Houze. It's been fun watching the growth and development of the fifth gen since its inception. It was great to see the Z/28 we wanted for so long finally be built and I look forward to what the sixth generation will bring. Glad to see some life be pumped back into the site since the reveal.

My thoughts? Nothing more than a sticker package money grab.

I really don't understand the thought process behind revealing the car a day before the supposed actual reveal. They just killed a lot of the hype and excitement, for me at least.
I agree!

I Really Have To See It In Person...

That being said.....

Biggest disappointment:

Looks to much like the Gen 5. As you guys know I was a huge proponent of a Camaro that would look awesome and like a Camaro in 2022 when the Gen 7 would likely debut. I see a car that looks great but not sure how it will stand up in 5 or 6 years. I know a lot of folks love their Gen 5s and have stated a preference to their car over what we saw this weekend but to me a Gen 5 looks old and big. Still nice, just not current.

Biggest reasons to buy:

Drive train and performance. How can an LT1 manual trans in 200 pound or so lighter car not be intriguing?

Refined interior

All the latest technology and connectivity.

MR Shocks and Electronic Rear Diff.

Biggest reasons NOT to buy:

Visibility. Sorry GM but telling me that all the Camaro buyers voiced they would prefer styling over rear visibility is an old trap. You forget the reasons why people DON'T buy a Camaro and you risk a much expanded production base. If all you want is to satisfy your existing customer then awesome. And I know you have reams of data to back up your decision or at least I hope you do, there is one reason Mrs. Number 3 hates driving Camaros...........yep, visibility.

Trunk space and access. You guys remember when I posted the video of getting 2 sets of golf clubs in the trunk of my CTF? Not sure I see it here. Our ATS will fit 2 sets if you put in one diagonally first and then one cross car on top. The Camaro will certainly not accommodate them in the same manner. I'll need room for two sets in the trunk. I know GM has an evaluation for this, but I've seen the bags they use for it. The XLR with the roof down handled 2 of those cloth Sunday bags.

Keep in mind, we have 6 more months before day 1 at the dealership. And there is still a lot of information missing. Specific weights for example, option packages and standard equipment.

Overall I am very intrigued. It's a Camaro that short of looking too much like the current car seems to have addressed everything I've complained about except visibility. And no, GM having a backup camera does not excuse this.

And because it hasn't been done yet..............
It just looks to have a humpback.

I'm really interested in seeing the 6th gen SS run against the 5th gen 1LE. GM says it's faster. I'm curious how it does with the run flats and smaller brakes. I'm sure the biggest advantages are the power, torque and weight.

Also as the car is 1" lower a lower CG may also help. But that's a guess without data.

Requires perhaps a small explanation.

Decided I wanted to go into law enforcement but still want to keep my current job with Agriculture. Turns out Florida Highway Patrol has an auxiliary program that pays for my training, law enforcement certification, and equipment. I just have to volunteer at least 8 hours of my time every month.

Essentially if all works out, I'll be a part time volunteer state trooper.
