OK... I get it.. yes the one at the dealer was a 2SS and probably the only one in the city w/o RS (98% of the 2SS's were RS's when I was looking to buy) I couldn't figure out why sometimes they were on in the garage, and other times they were not on.... I'm a little slow....guess thats why I am paying for the car...and the wife gets it...and once in a while I get to drive it to the gas station and fill it for her :-)

I don't see any kit on that website. Can you give the exact name of the kit or give a link directly to it? Thanks!

By the way, what would make the most sense is for the halo's to be the daytime running lights, and for the fog lights to act like fog lights (with an on/off switch). What they did with the RS package makes no sense. Whether I NEED fog lights with the HIDs are irrelevant.

If the key is "on", and you push the button, it turns on the lower fogs. Wonder how many people have bad switches and spend a lot of time talking about DRL, etc? Maybe the 2011 is different than 2010...not sure...been 25 years since I had a camaro, and this is the first forum I have ever joined. Any 2011 owners let me know how their switch works, would greatly appreciate it.

You can have both DRL and fog lights with this fabulous Pep Boys $20 option.

If this pic wasn't a photo shop I would say I need to go get my head examined.

Midniter, please don't take offense, but those would look so much better attached on either side of the mail slot... but then I guess it would be difficult to attach the bug guard shield... so maybe, ambers on the hood?

Forget the DRL's. The halos only (one switch notch to the right) look so much better than the DRL's, anyway.

This thread really helped me. I bought a 2012 2SS on Friday. Spent 2 days looking for the fog light switch, which the instruction book shows is supposed to be there. Then I saw this and realized they wern't fog lights! Thanks everybody for the info.

Not exactly crystal clear, but it is in there. Straight out of the 2012 Owners Manual:

Lighting Sec 6-3
Daytime Running Lights (DRL)

The DRL system will make the
low-beam headlamps come on at a
reduced brightness or for vehicles
with High Intensity Discharge (HID)
headlamps, the dedicated DRL
lights
will come on when the
following conditions are met:

Lighting Sec. 6-5
Front Fog Lamps

For vehicles with High Intensity
Discharge (HID) headlamps, the
Daytime Running Lamps (DRL)
replace the fog lamps.

So as others have stated, if you have a RS there are NO fog lights to turn on.

Don't feel bad. The salesman, sales manager, and general manager couldn't figure it out either....even AFTER reading the owner's manual. The service manager and I had to explain it to them
