hey ... i received a new gear shift knob as a Christmas gift ... can someone help me to install it tomorrow? or tell me? i'm not even sure which tools i need to do the job. someone just said to make sure i had a zip tie ...

This is how it comes off. Looks easy enough.
Depending on the knob you have it may just press on like the old one or have more hardware.

Which knob did you get, I may be able to help. I replaced my shifter and the linkage that wasn't fun, it's really tight under there. The zip tie hold the shifter boot onto the the shift rod, you can see that when you flip the boot inside out.

here is the one that i received and i picked up zip ties today as i was told that i'd need one. i'm just not sure which tools i need to do the job and the last thing i want to do is screw things up.
