4 Post Lift ?

I am currently trying to decide on a 4 post lift for my Camaro and Corvette.
Looking at Bend Pac and the HD9 series. Does anyone have any personal experience with this manufacturer or recommendations?
Thanks in advance.

No matter what lift you get make sure it is ALI certified (American Lift Institute). This will assure you that the lift can safely handle the weight it is rated at (I've seen video's of lifts that were not ALI certified failing at 75% of their rated capacity...not something you want to happen while you are under it).

Also if you have the room and are getting the lift primarily for working on vehicles with I would highly recommend a 2 post over a 4 post. With the two post the entire area under the car will be clear and easily accessible to work on. With a 4 post you will always have the side areas under the car obstructed by the tracks/rails you drive the car onto.

I personally have a Challenger CL10V 2 post lift. I really like it and don't know why I never got one sooner. For most 2 post lifts you will need 12 ft minimum of ceiling height though. So in that respect a 4 post might offer the advantage of fitting into a garage with a lower ceiling height.

Thanks Nick! That is a awesome shop you got there.
I have a limited ceiling height of 10 feet and I am looking at using the lift mainly for car storage and minor service work. The Bend Pac HD9 looks like it might be the best of both worlds for me. I will check on the ALI certification for this lift though...thanks again!

I have an Atlas Pro 8000 from Greg Smith Equipment. My garage has a 10'-6" ceiling. i stack a 1st gen and a 5th gen. Both cars are about 53 inches high.

With a jack tray, I'm able to do any service I need. Although it is mostly for storage. I also installed a wall mounted jackshaft door opener, so no opener hanging in the middle of the garage. I had the door tracks extended. The door raises to within inches of the ceiling. The posts can be a pain, but for all of the benefit, I'll live with them...

I have the Bend Pac HD9 and so far I like it. I got it in January and built it myself in a few days.

Would you mind posting pics of the garage door and opener? Trying to figure how much room I have for a lift....

Thx.

This is a very good idea too for anyone looking to stack cars in their garage.

I did the same thing on one of my garage bays as well. Ran the tracks up as high as they could go and had a jack shaft opener installed. It makes the garage look so much more clean and open looking. I'm considering having it done on one of my other garage bays someday just to clean up the garage appearance and have increased ceiling height when the door is open.

That is the same garage door setup I have and my ceiling is actually 10'-5" (every inch matters!!), good to hear you have the clearance for your two Camaros.

Here's a few of mine. I actually have plenty of room to raise the upper car another 10-12", but chose to keep is lower for storage.

Also, beware the Atlas Pro 8000 is not wide enough for a full size pick up. It won't take my Avalanche. So if you need to service a wider vehicle you'll need to consider a wide model lift. Rich
