P-1SC-1 Quote
Hello- so I think I am going to make the step to supercharge my 2010 Camaro 2SS L99. I have reached out to all the ProCharger Dealers in my area that were recommended to me by ProCharger. So far the below are my two quotes.
Company 1: The STG 2 intercooler kit with a P-1SC-1. $8500 tax, installed and tuned. The tuning service includes both dyno and road tuning as well. The fuel system upgrade would include injectors and BAP using the stock fuel pump. I can save $200 by paying cash bringing the final total to $8,300 all in. Company 2: They said I can take $500 off if I choose the basic finish (company #1 quoted me the basic finish) and another $200 if I pay cash bringing the final total to $10,428.84 cash. I am still waiting on two more shops to get back to me. What are your thoughts on these two quotes. Are they fair, do I need to ask more questions with either company? Any help or insight would be appreciated. Thanks! |

You will be limited to a peak power level with a BAP. Minimum I would do is a ZL1 pump with fpcm.

Hot damn. That’s a lot of coin for a supercharger and install. A whole brand new Lsa engine is only $12k

Have you looked into the ECS kits?

You are definitely getting taken advantage of. $290 for a ZL1 pump?. You can get an ECS complete kit for about 6500k or so, injectors and Bap along with catch can all included. Best educate yourself a little or your pockets will wind up empty. It adds up fast but paying top dollar is not necessary. The ECS 1500 is good up to 850hp.

I’m sure a lot of centri blowers are reliable. AA/ ECS/ ECS/ TrqStorm...
Skip the BAP. Go aux pump of put in a new pump. 7400$ for a P1. Might as well do an ECS tuner kit for 5800$, and it performs better. Just to give you a price comparison... Here’s my build. Tax free btw. Balancer- 405$ Tune/install for EVERYTHING- 1900$ FIC 127#- 800$ DSX pump- 950$ Gauges/pod- 400$ ECS 1500- 5800$ 10255$

I helped my friend install his stage 2 P1SC on a 2015 SS. Here are a few things to keep in mind. 1. If you have any modifications currently, (cam/exhaust/headers) Procharger support will tell you NOT to use their tune. 2. The fast injectors are not well liked by most tuners and too small for E85. 3. The surge valve is kinda junk, and has been replaced by a Big Red Race valve. 4.The instructions have you install a boost/vacuum switch right onto the brake booster vacuum line. This leaves exposed electrical connectors right next to the metal refrigeration lines. Be sure to cover them so it doesnt short out. 5. The boost a pump will only get you so far with the stock fuel pump. You will eventually need more pump. Cant use that setup for E85. 6. The intercooler piping and couplers are a pain in the ass and his intake temperatures are around 140. Thats kinda high for a "stage 2" intercooler. Probably because the air filter sucks hot air off the header. 7. He broke the tensioner bolt during a pulley swap. Not sure who's fault that is, but the design isnt the greatest. Since he was cammed with headers, he ended up having to sell off his Fast injectors, Diablo Sport handheld tuner, install a ZL1 fuel pump, and have his car tuned locally and the FPCM tuned. And now he's on the limit of his fuel system. It cost him $1400 for ID1300x, $500 for a tune, and $200 for a new fuel pump. Plus $400 or so for the Surge valve. In my personal opinion, I would try to buy the kit as a Tuner Kit, if they sell it this way. That should save you $1000 or so, which you could use towards a DSX Aux pump, or a good set of injectors, or a tune, or a clutch, or a set of drag radials, or any of the many things you will want soon.

These guys are giving you good info.I would personally go with the ecs kit but that’s personal preference. No matter which one you go with get it as a tuner kit.
You would eventually end up changing the injectors and pump anyway. If keeping 700 or below then zl1 Pump will do the job. If maybe going higher in the future then an aux pump or dedicated aftermarket fuel pump/pumps should be installed now instead of later. |

Only recommendation I'll give you is not to skimp on the fuel system! Decide where you want to end up, and buy all the fuel components to get there the first time so you don't end up having to do it twice. If your end state is going to be E85 or 700+rwhp, even if that's in 2 years, get the injectors and pump(s) that will support it now. It'll save you money and time in the long run so you don't have to pay for the install twice.
Comparing to some of the other vendor sponsors on here, that price doesn't look like it's out of whack for a stage 2 procharger kit. So if you want procharger, it seems ok.

If you will truly be happy with 700whp a zl1 pump and jms voltage booster will work to about 750whp on 93 octane over 800whp on 100octane. No E85. ID 1050 injectors would also be fine, again without e85. If you're gonna want more I'd skip an aux pump and just do a dual or triple pump setup.
