Aftermarket V-Flag Owners Problem

I'm not speaking for all V-flags in the after-market, but this happened to me and at least one other member (TJD24). After the winter We both found that the red came off of the V-Flags we bought(different vendors). The white and black also came off of each one of these emblems... I've been able to gently pry out the paint from all parts of the flag with an awl....This happen to anyone else?

As fixxer56 indicated my V-Flags have some of their paint off in the same areas as well. I've emalied the vendor but haven't heard back yet. Given all the work to cut off the posts, fill the back to create a flat surface and apply 3M tape unsure if I'll replace them or what.

I've considered getting the "rally sport" lettering though same work as above though harder as each letter requires filling in...

I will try to paint the colors back on the V-Flags first to see how they look otherwise I'll remove as well.

Sir Nuke - where did you buy your V-Flags from ?

well I can't say FOR SURE, as it was a while back, BUT I believe I got them from "Year One", but seeing as how you that have had some of the paint come off, you all live up north with a lot colder weather, and chemicals on the roads during the winter.....seeing as I am in Texas, close to Houston, I don't have that problem.

I sprayed mine with a clear coat before I installed them. I haven't had a problem. I was told by the dealer that this might happen if I ran the car through a touchless wash system.

I agree about the cold... metal contracting and expanding... but my car was under a cover for our 80+ inches of snow...clearcoat is a definite consideration

Mine are holding up fine but I'll keep an eye on them. I purchased mine from Rick's Camaro.

Thanks for the heads up.

Didn't have this happen on my Camaro, but I did have some "3.8" fender badges on my Mustang. Over time the red came off. Was told to paint them in with modeling paint and spray it with a clear coat. Worked fine

Hmmmm - mine are from Ground-Up as well - although I drove the Camaro in the winter I didn't drive in snow and only a couple of times in the rain - they haven't answered my email yet - will give them until mid-week to ping them again.
