Not many convertible owners needing tops. I was trying to get some trim pieces off a vert getting parted out, but the seller would only sell the entire top for 1k.

To be honest, I haven't heard of anyone needing to replace their top. (Mine sits covered in the garage during winter)
Please post on what you find. -me

I just had my second one put on. During the search to find a new one I learned there are only two manufacturers for tops. Don't remember the names. For example Robbins (my second top) is manufactured by one of those two and they make multiple others; same top different name like Robbins.
The hard part now is GM discontinued the rain bag and if yours is leaking, you have a bigger problem than which brand of top. Mine is a 2011 and when I took it to the shop in Bowie Md. where my local chevy dealer sources these jobs out to, they told me they would do nothing with the rain bag and I should just replace the top and sell the car. There is a long facebook thread for camaros and there is a lot of info on this forum, but the short answer remains; the rainbag along with a lot of the other parts are no longer available. On one of the forums I found a boty shop in the cincinatti oh area that will patch the rain bag and one in Raliegh NC that will also try to repair the existing bag. I had mine done in Raleigh, just before the end of 23. Was not cheap, but the window fell out of the back after about 4 years of very casual driving. The original top lasted over 100k miles and had rub holes in it but window glass is still in it. Good luck getting yours replaced. |
