Can't select any PTM or turn off TC/ESC?..
So I'm new to the zl1 community. I got my 2014 with a ton of work done to it. Once I found out that it had drive modes I was stoked. I go to press the buttons to scroll through and see that the buttons are either stuck or swapped for a non button type piece because they don't depress...neither does the traction button...it's solid in place...the sport button (I think that's what it's labeled) is illuminated but can't change any settings...
Is that a function of the tune that might have been done and the buttons were disabled for some reason? Or is it broken and should still be able to change settings even with heavy work done? All work was done by JRE Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Doesn't sound right and the mods should have no effect on PTM nor the buttons that activate it. Sure it's a real ZL1? There should be three buttons as shown below; Tour, Sport and TC. Press Tour or Sport to active either mode and tap the TC button (third on right) twice to activate PTM and then use the Tour or Sport buttons to scroll through the 5 PTM modes.

Yea it's a real z...Ted knows the car well. The tour sport and TC button don't depress at all...drove another z yesterday and it has the same buttons of course and they work as designed with the screens changing on the cluster and all...mode 4 is nasty, the rear end got out on me...didn't know it switched lol

Maybe the previous owner switched console covers (don't know why) and didn't reconnect the switches. The shift cover pulls off pretty easy; so I would pull it to check. Maybe spilled something on it and caused them to stick?

Take a pic so we can see what it looks like... Lift up the center section see if anything is hooked up under it...

You can also call JRE inquire about the switches, they may be disabled for a specific reason...GL...

Always a possibility something spilled in console and made buttons stick, prob have to remove the piece and see

So I pulled the console just now, took care of two issues...1, the switches have no spring load on them, it's simply the caps that say the mode and then the circuit board. No way for them to engage...2, I wasn't watching what I was pushing and pushed my finger right through the lens on one of the gauges...sooo there's that...
At least it's not a wiring thing. There's no mechanical possibility for the switch to actually work. Thoughts as to why or what advantage it has? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Was the mag ride removed?
Does the car have the factory mag ride struts?

I'm sure that JRE can answer your question...Have you tried the Driver Info Control feature???It's located on the turn signal end, and has modes that will give you info as well...

If the sport light is on would it not be possible that the mag ride is set in that position for a performance reason???
