3rd "Somewhat" Annual Driveway-Austin Event

Hello all,

It's been a little while since I've been able to put together another event at Driveway-Austin but the time has come.

I'm looking for suggestions, mainly from those that have been with me over the past two events, as to a good time for this next event. I'm thinking March/April of next year some time, but I'm completely open to anything after February.

I’m on the committee planning a big car show here in Cedar Park, TX for my sons' Navy JROTC in February, so that’s why I’m saying after then. I’ll post details about the show as soon as I have them.

The magic number is 10 drivers to attend in order for this to be a private event.

Anything less than that will be an open class for anyone to join.

I’ve been toying with the idea of making this an open event to Gen 5 & 6 Camaros and to newer Vettes. Thoughts?

In order to do this event you either need a race license or have to attended Driveway-Austin’s Foundations of Road Racing class in the past.

This will be the ADVANCED ROAD RACING class.

Let me know if you’re interested. I’ll be putting PM’s out to those I have contact information for from last time I put together events.

If you're interested please indicate if this is your first time to Driveway or not.

Good times!

I'm interested. Work has a potential to go absolutely sideways in January, but I'm game for some track time.

Great! If you've not been on one of the previous track days with us there are a couple options.

1. You'd have to complete the Foundations of Road Racing course on your own before attending this group event.
or
2. If we get enough people wanting to do the Foundations class I can set that up as well. Again, we'd need 10 drivers to make it a private event, but less can take it on the normal scheduled day during each month. See their calander - http://www.drivewayaustin.com/calendar

I'll keep track of how many we have for what type of class. The foundations class is anything but boaring. Just ask the people that took it the last two times I've put it together.

So how much notice do you need?

When would you like to see it? I'm open to any suggestions at this point as long as it's AFTER February 2017.

Crazy....2017....Shouldn't we be living in space by now? Hell, I can't even get my cell phone to work in some parts of my house. lol

I'm definitely down for this. I've never been but have really been meaning to get out to Driveway. I'm already planning on taking the foundations course in December or January so this would be perfect.

Cool! I work Saturdays as well.

Any thoughts on inviting the Corvette guys/gals to this?

I just added a poll which will make it easier for me to keep track of who's done what and wants to go.

If you've already told me you're interested please fill in the poll as well.

Karl, do you know the price point if we have 10 drivers? I need new pads and tires, the oilfield hasn't been treating me too well...

I'll send Bill an email and find out. What's a good date to shoot for?

Let me know.
