Why do you still own a GEN5?
I have owned a Gen5 from 2015 and recently moved from a 2Lt to SS. I make a pretty good salary and had a lot of options to choose from. I drove a number of cars such as CTSV, Gen6, Mercedes SL, Corvette. I also considered something from the late 60's early 70's. but I kept coming back to the Gen5.
While I was driving yesterday feeling good about my decision, I was thinking about this. For me, this car does a fantastic job of pulling together the older analog muscle car era with enough (but not too much) newer technology. its highly reliable and still looks great. I've owned a lot of cars over the years but I can't say I have enjoyed any as much as this one (although I do miss my 05 GX470) So, what does it for you, and how many times a week do you go out just to take a peek at it? |

The Gen 6 interior is too tight and feels cramped.
They tried to appeal to the smaller lighter faster crowd and that is not where the sales were. The Dodge boys got a lot more business after 2016 and became the #1 seller with a car that was virtually unchanged on the exterior since 2008. When the 5th Gen Camaro came out all the pro athletes were buying them everybody from basketball players to football offensive linemen because they could fit comfortably.

I know there are plenty of "new, but not necessarily improved" machines currently available nothing today grabs me like the "5". While I am a bit biased I do think the 5th Gen Camaro with all of its variations is one of the best if not THE best working-man performance vehicles ever created. Thanks Ed Welburn, Al Oppenheiser and crew!

I agree with the previous mentions that the Gen 6 is too tight. I get why they did it and I also get why it bit them in the arse...

I ordered a 13 new and still have it. Before I ordered I went to a new manufacturer car show with an open mind and looked at many sport car choices but kept going back to the camaro to look at it again.
About 3 years in to owning it I was getting bored with it. It was either start modding it or trade it. 8 years later and still playing with mods. My car went from boring, to a hobby, to too much into it to get out of it, to man its just how I want it and will not get rid of it. I still catch myself looking back when I walk away sometimes. |

Because it’s my toy and I love it to death. Makes just over 800 at the rear wheels and if things go as planned next year should see it over 1200 at the wheels.
