Keep stock exhaust?

Hey guys. I'm replacing my stock exhaust today with a Magnaflow Cat-back (16580). Was wondering if I should keep the stock exhaust or just let the shop keep it?

If you have room for it somewhere, why not keep it. There's always the chance you will hate the new exhaust, or possibly go back to stock before selling the car.

If you have a place to store it, I'd say keep it. You never know if you'll have to revert to stock for some reason I.E. trading in your camaro for a newer model at your chevy dealership you will want the stock on b/c you won't get any extra money from the aftermarket one. Plus you could sell your aftermarket one also.

I just got mine back this morning from getting my new exhaust and I kept it. I paid for it, may as well. I don't know about you but I was in love with it before but now I am in lust with it! It sounds so awesome and pretty peppy if I do say so myself!

I have my exhaust chilling up against the side of the garage, on the inside. Probably will never revert back to stock, but it's always good to have. Still have stock airbox as well!

Keep it...

I tried three aftermarket systems with longtube headers. They all droned and were waaay too loud. I eventually put the stock system back on. Sounds juuuust right....

Keep your stock system just in case your aftermarket system doesn't agree with you. Or...if you plan to sell your car, you can sell your aftermarket system and put the stock one back on.

I have a shelf unit full of all my old parts, exhaust system, intake, springs, sway bars, shifter, etc. Never know when someone might want something.

Ever curious,

Gave mine away to fellow C5 member who didn't like his aftermarket setup. No was I ever gonna put that heavy, quiet exhaust back on so I should have just trashed it. Glad somebody could use it. I was in the process of trying to get rid of it somehow- took up alot of space.

I traded my 2010 in with the SLP still on, so my stock pipes are sitting in my garage. If anyone needs them, let me know...Don't think I'll need them on my vert...
