Don't wait until it is completely dry before you peel off the tape. Give the paint a couple minutes to get tacky. You don't want to do it right after you get get done painting cause theres a chance of smearing, but waiting to long will cause it to peel up when u take the tape off.

Thought about repainting mine and trying heat paint or just no clear coat.. but not looking forward to sanding all the clear coat and paint off..

I couldn't find adhesive promoter at HomeDepot but found Primer.. are they the same?
Also, the paint is rated for temp not to exceed 200 F.. am assuming the engine plastic cover will never get that hot, right? Got Primer, Paint and clear coat...
