donathonnn,

Congrats on the new Camaro, but I realize how displeasing it can be when faced with an odor concern like this, and though you're seeking thoughts and opinions, I would be happy to communicate this situation with the designated Customer Experience Manager at your preferred dealer if you feel an official diagnosis is necessary. Feel free to message us privately if you'd like to proceed, or discuss this situation further.

If your 2LS happens to be manual than it's also your brand new clutch getting its first slip. Pretty typical for about 500-1000 miles depending on how you drive

This is incorrect. My mistake.

All 2LS's are automatics, all 1LS's are manuals.

I say it wouldn't hurt to pop the hood and make sure all caps are on tightly. Look for stains on the engine itself and elsewhere to ensure there isn't a leak. I know it's a new car, but human error happens. A seal or clamp might not have been secured properly during manufacturing.

My mistake - assumed they were like the 2LT and 2SS where the option was available, although uncommon.

Thanks everybody for all the info on that. The smell has gone down a good amount since then. Really enjoying my new Camaro!

Catalytic converters burning in. Happens on all new cars. It should go away within a few hundred miles.
