questionable interior...?

I am looking at a 2001 camaro SS, the outside of the car looks immaculate from the pictures this guy sent me but then I asked for the interior pictures. This car does not come with leather seats and on the dashboard it says CAMARO, thats it not camaro ss. Now, im not sure if this guy just bought the emblems for the outside or if this is just the way you could purchase an SS model, if anyone could explain this situation that would be a great help.
THanks

Don't worry, it's normal. My 98 SS came with only the CAMARO plaque on the dash. I later bought a CAMARO SS plaque from SLP to replace it.

I would also get the VIN and do a check against that number. That will tell you what original equipment the car had on it.

if the motor says 3.4 SFI or 3800 Series 2 it is NOT a SS if that helps

Just because a Camaro has a SS hood, SS spoiler, and the "17 SS rims doesn't mean it is a true SS. I've seen two v6 Camaro's with the SS hood, SS spoiler and one had the 5 spoke "17 SS rims, while the other one had the 10 spoke "17 rims. God only knows why they would do such a thing to a v6 Camaro. Why not just buy an actual SS.

I would, like already mentioned, run the VIN number to verify its true identity.

Good luck!

I wasn't referring to your car at all.

My statement was just made in general, regarding non SS Camaro's, much less base model v6's, that have all the appropriate SS exterior modifications.

Nothing wrong with doing it(putting complete SS exterior, minus the badges, on a non SS Camaro). I would never do it though.

I like your Camaro, looks pretty sharp. I also like those chrome 10 spoke SS rims you have. I would take the SS badges off if it were me.

The only thing I would want exterior wise off of an SS is the spoiler and the chrome 10 spokes. Don't get me wrong, I like the hood. I would just rather have a cowl hood.

How hard would it be to convert a cloth interior SS to a leather interior SS and what do think that would cost me?

If the car is a true SS it will have the RPO code WU8 on the options label on the driver's side door. If there were any SLP factory options fitted the code Y2Y will also appear on the options label. The Camaro SS dash plaque you mention is an SLP Option. Hope this helps.
