I just wish you could get a removable hard top to put on it.
Then I would think about waiting for the convertable.

Uhhh.....no...It would cost you about as much as the car to have a custom hard-top installed and probably still no guarantees that it wouldn't leak. You'd be completely wasting your money. They would have to mangle the body frame and ruin the integrity of the vehicle. Don't bother man. Wait for the true convertible and be happy with the soft top.

If they made a hard-top convertable (retractable) Camaro I would cancel my order right now and wait for it.

I LOVE retractables. That was the best part about my Mercedes SLK...I miss it so much.

There was a thread about this a long time ago... we were told that there were no plans on making a hard top convertible.

A retractable hard top just means added weight and less trunk, no thanks.

+1

A soft top would already weigh about 4000 lbs. Add a couple hundred more for a hard top.

4000 lbs thats what the auto makers should be working on. Its way too heavy IMO. Im gonna buy one I'm just not so happy with the weight. Whats the difference. Handling, performance and fuel milage. I know its a dead horse but I cant help it.

Both good points but someone who would be interested in the convertible USUALLY isn't into production numbers and racing.... So weight wouldn't be a huge concern to them, i would think....

i would love to see a hardtop vert but I doubt that it would be possible on the camaro with the trunk. I wouldn't try to do any mod to make it that way. But thats me

problem is that the camaro is not in bmw mercedez bens market territory

and its going to be a very small market that is willing to pay near 50,000 for a camaro that only has a hardtop convertible as the difference without some super engine

i would love it but it would probably cost more money to add that option that it would be on the profit they would make on selling the hard top
