Whats this panel in the dash for? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Can anyone tell me what this panel on the top of the dash is for? Or, if anyone has ever popped it open and looked inside?

Is it just a lot of dead space, or does it just open up to a big wire bundle? Something tells me underneath here is an empty treasure cove just waiting for mods to take advantage of. I really hope I'm not wrong on this one...

whaaaa? I don't think i have ever seen a center speaker in the dash before.

LOL, here I am thinking its something cool, well I guess a center speaker in a dash is pretty cool.

Look at some older cars. Our 70" Challenger has one in the middle, and two on the sides. Not sure about our road runner

Not like James Bond sh*t, but maybe that's where the wiring and "easier" access is? Just a speculation...

That's where the 9th speaker is!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was wondering where they hid the 9th the other day.

yeah i guess that would make it a speaker. I was thinking 9 being the sub, im not really sure why because it doesn't come with one!!!!

My Camaro has a center speaker in dash but its 40 yrs old
