front license plate

has anyone asked a dealer if the camaro can be ordered without the front license plate bracket attached or is this something that comes in the trunk for the dealer to install. here in ct 2 plates are required but the law is not enforced much. i sure don't want holes in my SS front cover.

Illinois requires a front plate, my dealer don't install front plate brackets unless directed by the owner. So like my Corvette the braket will be placed in the trunk.

I also made sure that was written on my order. DO NOT INSTALL FRONT LICENSE PLATE BRACKET.

they are shipped with the car in the trunk. My dealer said he went ahead and ordered one because it came free with the car, but if i decided to move to a state with a front plate and needed to order one then they would charge for it. (i wouldnt put it on anyways)

I live in Illinois as well and I've been driving my 02 camaro around everywhere without a front license plate for months and I haven't been stopped once yet. Makes the car look so much better.

make sure you tell the dealer (every time you talk to them) NOT to install the license plate bracket onto the car during dealer prep.

yea def dont install the bracket, even if ur state ir country requires it. just ty-strap it to the lower grill when going longer distances, like a car show than just cut the ty-strap off and remove the plate for a clean look. i know serveral people with gt500's and z06 that do that. thats what ill be doing

Just looking at the design of the front end, the front plate bracket would have to have a 90 degree bend and bolt underneath the car, (IMO). More than likely, there are pre-drilled holes under the front fascia.

I believe my dealer won't install the front License bracket, I hate IL for that. I see many cars without the front plates, I don't want to ruin my front grill look!

Front plate brakets are normally order with each new car but are not installed at the factory they are almost 95% of the time installed by the dealer. Reason being if you order with the bracket its free, but if you ordered afterwards through parts dept then on average they are 150 bones.
If you are in dout then do make sure to tell the dealer you DONT want the front plate braket put on and it wont be

It's required in my state -- don't care. Asked the dealer to please make sure it wasn't installed.
