How about... HECK YES !
In a hot minute. That's what I've been saving for & looking for. I'd go up to 50k without batting an eye. Don't misunderstand me, I'm not rolling in the dough, but I've been driving either my Bike or a '93 Stealth that's already had the piss wrung out of it so I can save the expense of swapping until the mighty Z28 rolls out. (With an appropriately long strip of rubber left on the road behind...) Caveat: I am assuming the Z28 will beat the GT500 in most stats, including the quarter mile, and at roughly the same price. ...and it will. I have Faith. .

people talk about having something different, if you have a Z you wont. If you want different why not for the same price go with Henry, berger, lingenfelter, etc. Same pricing, performance etc.

If I am blowing smoke here, I really don't mean to. I have to wait and see what happens with the Z28, performance-wise, because I prefer the GM production quality and warranties. I would probably bet on much higher suspension performance considering current after-market proven technology, among other things. Based on other Z28 discussions, I would have to consider Hennessy's HPE650 for comparisons (perf.,pricing, etc.). That is if I want to have majority street category bragging rights for that period of time, like the 2010 Camaro was, compared to other mfgs. Maybe, even a Vette, because there would be nothing to prove on the street (speaks for itself) and I could only laugh at anyone wanting to prove otherwise. I personally look forward to seeing the 6th gen Camaro with the CTS-V frame (lighter?) and performance. Now that just might answer all the weight arguments. It is a must, in all cases, to maintain and continue the Chevy dominance in class, style, and quality over other mfgs. because that is what being able to make the sale is all about. IMHO. Now that GM has it, let's keep it! |

Local dealer had a 2SS with a $5000 added featuer for it jsut being on the lot, car total was $43,500; so a Z28 @$45K is not a stretch.

The way I look at it, we are paying ~36k for an SS and some are spending the extra 10k on a supercharger and other mods so why not get it from GM that way and it's covered under the factory warranty. My two cents!

Fully loaded at $45K and I'd buy one.
In SC, that's $45,300 after taxes.

I see no way that the Z28 will start under $50,000 Chevrolet will not let it be faster than a Corvette the Vette will get a HP increase and add a few grand to the sticker to make room for the Z28. Anyone who thinks Chevy will let a Camaro out perform a Corvette is dreaming Corvette owners would go crazy. If anyone thinks they are going to buy a Z28 in the 40s just buy a 2SS now and start modding because you are waisting your time.
I bought a 2SS two months ago and I will buy the Z28 I am sure it will beat the GT500 but it will cost $2000 to $3000 more than it. You are going to get a LSA a upgraded suspension and body and a improved interior plus a 100,000 warranty on top of a Loaded 2SS $39,000. We are paying a little over 50 grand guys no doubt about it.

If it stickers anywhere UNDER $50K I would be very surprised. The GT500 is the benchmark for pricing. It isn't gonna be to different.
