The great job done on the 6Gen 1LE doesn't leave much room for a 6Gen Z/28...thoughts???

The team has aces hidden in sleeves.

I can't wait to see the hand they'll play on the ZL1.

It doesn't leave room for a lot of stuff...even a "ZL1"...will likely be little more than a 2SS with 1LE goodies and an LT4. Not that that isn't hugely impressive...but this 1LE has a lot on its resume already, and hasn't even hit the track yet!

True. I have to guess if there is to be a Z/28 it will have CCB's and a new NA engine LT5???

I think we'd best not fool ourselves too early...huge displacement N/A likely wont be replaced.

I'm actually thinking of a smaller displacement high-revving DOHC V8...turbo's maybe???

I read into Al O's comments below that we'll see a 6Gen ZL1 & Z/28. What do you think?

“Yes, there’s room above the 1LE,” says Oppenheiser.
Oppenheiser says a chassis setup like the V-8 1LE’s would be more in line with something like, say, a ZL1. Something like, say, a Z/28 would be more basic and would build on the raw, Pro Touring-like character of the last 1LE. “And Ford will have a counterpunch for this [1LE],” says Oppenheiser.

Yup... LT4 for the ZL1 and a big ass N/A motor for the 28.

So far they are sticking to the program on these rollouts. The 50th should be nice as well.

I don't know about the "big ass N/A" part. But maybe they can use the 5.5 from the Corvette Racing program, lol.

I'm guessing a jump to a DOHC V8 and possibly twin-turbos. 575-600 HP. Would they add CF wheels? They appear to subtract a second or two a lap. Without them on the GT350R it would not have bested the Z/28.
