Smile 2010 Camaro LLT vs 2011 Chrysler 300C

So I'm planning to hit the drag strip and race my buddy he has a 300C v8 (STOCK) and I have an LLT with MRT v2 exhaust ... How close would I be ?
And is there any chance of me winning?
Thanks !!!

Depends on the year. The orginal 5.7 would be a close race. Theyre mid-low 14sec cars stock. If its the newer eagle 5.7 he should get the W. Unless he totally screws up.

Out of curiosity for you mopar guys in here, what about the 08 heritage edition 300c? which 5.7 is in those things? - I own one which is why I'm asking, but I don't know much about those motors.

There were only 500 heritage 300's made in 08. they run 60 in the mid 5's and quarters in the high 13's. Not going to beat an L99 but that wasn't why they were made.

I test drove a Challenger R/T a few months back and a 2005 300C yesterday..... I was completely underwhelmed, there's no way in hell that makes nearly 400 lb-ft of torque(if you disprove me on this I don't care, it felt slow- it doesn't have the bottom end of my 4.6 stroker Jeep Cherokee XJ or the top end of my G). This is coming from an owner of a G35 mind you, I am not used to V8 torque curve(used to instant torque Inline 6 or 8k rpm V6). But it felt slow, as did the Challenger R/T.... Accelerating was boring because you can't even hear the engine, it sounds like a Dyson vacuum cleaner, of course an exhaust system would change that easily but that's from my experience. Don't get me wrong, I thought I would LOVE Hemi's and the torque.... But seems like a lot of hype to me. Then again, it could just be so refined that it masks its speed very well.

I hear a lot about the price from other people. It must depend on which part of the US your in. The dodge dealership here in TN had a 392 for 41k....already installed with the CAI, strut bar, and mopar suspension. But I here from other people the prices can be rediculous. I guess its just dealership markup like any other high sought after car that has come out.

In the case of the Challenger R/t I test drove the salesman was telling me how it has power windows and locks in a model that cost $38k(same as my Infiniti) and it didn't even have push button start or bi-xenon headlights or radar cruise, felt like there was a lot of helium and paying for the styling going on. Lmao my little brothers modded 15 year old Mazda Millenia S pulls hard on his friends Challenger V6. He traps 94. I have test driven and/or ridden in a GC 5.7, Ram 5.7, Durango 5.7 and they all just sort of whoosh off the line and there's no urgency....
What? Your drive is just not gelling at all with mione. I will the 09 I drove felt slower and less compsed than 10 plus I drove, but that was the transmission needed tuned. The 10 i drove had no torque deficit and no problem getting going and accelerated excellent at highway speeds. Also, I am pretty sure sure the push button start is now standard and 38k would be basically for a loaded R/T Classic. R/Ts start at 30k and that includes power windows, locks, push button start, etc, etc, I am throwing tha BS flag on you.

My car is very similar to the 300c with the same chasis and engine. Many people are running low 13's with the newer 5.7 300c's/ charger r/t's. After 3 weeks of ownership I would say it would be a good run against an L99, but a LLT wont be enough imo.

They go about 13 second 1/4 miles in the most eventful way.... You just whoosh off the line uneventfully in a slightly urgent feeling and you can't hear the engine at all. Not that it's not quick, it just masks it so well that it doesn't feel as quick as it is. I thought a V6 with less torque would feel slow but be quick and that a Hemi powered car with nearly twice the displacement would really put me in my seat, but was proven wrong. Do the headlights turn on them ? And you are paying how much for a Dodge ? Oh wait it's a Challenger so they can charge through the *** on pricing, oh wait it's actually an old E-class benz that looks like an older 70s Chally that you are paying a premium for.

V8's-
LS>Hemi(oh wait they aren't even real Hemispherical engines, so you are paying another premium for just a name, just like you are for the Challenger)

Its a big, heavy car and its going to mask the way it feels... My Srt8 is a full second faster than my friend's 4.6 Mustang.... Yet his car " feels much faster" I could care less how it feels as I'm blowing by " faster feeling cars".....

I cant comment on the challenger as I own a charger. It does have a nice engine sound but for some reason it has four mufflers. IMO the only weakness is the 5-speed transmission. WHen you hit the gas its either throw back acceleration or nothing at all. From a stop it is great accleration for a 4400 lb car. I have already edged out a g37s and a BMW 335i in the 3 weeks I have had it.

I find it pointless to compare LS to Hemi. Both are great large displacement high powered torque monsters. My original argument was a LLT Camaro would not be able to edge out a 300c with equal drivers.
