Unhappy Tiny scratch on my new car- what to do?

I just picked up my car yesterday, and I noticed a little scratch (almost paint chip-like) on the edge of the door when I took my car home. It's really small, and barely noticeable, but annoying.

And to top it off, I was showing my Grandpa the engine today and when I shut the hood of the car, my key accidentally scratched it. Again, barely noticeable and extremely tiny.

But it's bothering me because I know it's there. Is there any kind of touch up you guys can recommend or anything else? Or should I just leave it?

You can get touch up paint from the dealer but if it's so small don't sweat it, you just performed your first customization and now it's truly yours!!

Get the touch up paint with a ball point head or small brush applicator from an auto parts store for the ding. The scratch if you can feel it with your fingernail then you can't fix. If it is only a surface blemish you can work it out yourself.

Deep scratches you have to fill, sand, paint, buff...etc.

Light scratches you can use a compound and buff it out.

And of course paint pens work as well.

Compound on clear coat will dull the clear coat!

If you do then try it out on a junker or a spot that is barely visible. I would suggest trying it in side your trunk for example. Some of these are OK but often they will change in appearance shortly after you apply them. It will look good on the day you do it but a month later you can spot it a block away. Good luck.

I'm talking about the compounds used by shops to make scratches "disaapear"

I don't know what the compound is...if its a polish or what. I'm assuming its crystaline or something.

All compounds are abrasive. Compound is just liquid sandpaper.

If you want to remove scratch's, your best bet is using Meguar's M105 Ultra Cut Compound (this is in the Professional line, so it is sold in quarts or gallons only). If you'd rather just go on down to the local Wal Mart or auto parts stores to purchase your supplies, you can probably find Meguiar's G17216 Ultimate Compound, which is similar to M105, but it is dialed in for the consumer-level paint guy. You can apply either product by hand, random orbital, or rotary polisher.

If the finish looks good enough for your needs, you can go right to protecting your paint. If not, use Meguiar's M205 Ultra Finishing Polish. Then your would follow up with Klasse AIO let it cure 24hrs then follow up with 2 coats of Blackfire Wet Diamond Paint sealant for that wetness you been looking for and protection also.
