"Who cares, it's a Hyundai"...
Almost all manufacturers care about what Hyundai is doing, because they have a reputation of making good products very quick. |

370 took the place of the 350 a couple years ago. The 370 is pretty fast. My friend has one, it would roast the V6 Camaro, youre right. |

FWIW, the v6 Camaro actually has 312hp @ 6500rpm and 278 ft/lb torq. @ 5100rpm..could be a little off on the rpm's but in any case, thats what it is.

Comparing cars based on the engine alone is pretty misguided. The V6 Camaro is faster than a V8 Mercury Grand Marquis. Meanwhile, a 4 cylinder Cobalt SS is quicker than both of them. Engine configurations by themselves don't dictate performance. No single specification does.
The fairest comparison would be between cars of near equal price. In which case, the V6 Camaro actually competes against a lot of 4 cylinder cars, while the SS is priced against V6 cars. Additionally, the Camaro isn't about all out performance. Its affordable performance. And 300+ hp, 0-60 in around 6s, and 1/4 in the low 14s range is pretty good. Especially when you figure that you can get that for under $25k US. Its an extremely short list of cars that can do that. So sure, there are plenty of rides that are faster. But few are faster for less cash. And none will turn as many heads as the Camaro.

I think you answered your own question...Yes the V6 is closer to the back of the pack in the 1/4 mile time. in this particular car it wasn't designed to be a 1/4 mile record breaker, It was for those who couldn't afford/didn't want a v8 but still wanted the awesome lines on this car. As you stated, there will always be something faster V6 or V8. If you just want to complain about how "slow" the V6 is when compared to other V6's then why did you buy it in the first place. Either way...enjoy your car or get something that you can enjoy.

How about we move this topic back to the original topic.....
Actually I don't care where this thread goes but I had to add my .02. To the OP....what a whiner!! I have seen absolutely no pride in any of your posts and instead just like to talk about how slow you think it is, or how it can't beat anything, or you seem to almost want to make fun of other V6 owners who think their car is "fast". Do you even like your car? Are you happy to be an owner? Can you sleep at night knowing that there are other cars out there in the same "class" that can beat it? Your comparing your car to the 370z and infinite cars...which are NOT in the same price point. You could strap on a turbo, have nearly 400 horses at the crank and still be under the price point of these cars. By the way, since you like to go by Magazine results, you do know that motortrend recently got a 5.4 0- 60 time out of the synergy green manual car. Is 5.4 slow??? I mean lets get serious here. These are ALL quick cars! Camaro's main fault is its weight....drop it down to mustang weight and you'd be looking at as quick or quicker times, but we all know that isn't likely until the next major update in 2014 or 2015. All I have to say is, take some pride in your ride, or sell it and get a car that you feel is faster (when only a few more years down the road it will be "SLOW" compared to the newer competition)
