Dealer wheel marks

So anyone in Michigan knows that we have had some damp rainy day weather, of late.. So we haven't really been able to detail like we want to.. Today was finally the day I been waiting for. I wash it up and start to shammy it when I start to notice huge patches of wheel marks.

I then take it up to the local body shop and ask what they think and all the guy could say was "why" why would they wheel a new car.

I've only had this car for 2 weeks now and I'm just sick.. I've contacted the dealer and they are willing to pay for it to be hand rubbed but how do I even know how much clear coat is left after the 1st hack job.

Any advice would be great.. What are my options?

Too bad... It will be fine once they fix it. I'd get you an electric leaf blower to dry your car. After reading post on this site. I'd never do anything else. My wife and I bought a new vehicle for her a year ago, been doing the two bucket wash and blow dry. I have yet to see an imperfection in the paint.

I have been blow drying my car, but I doesn't get all the little droplets. I am thinking of blow dry then a final one swipe dry with Adams terry cloth.

It looks worse than it is. You can have this happen with just a simple car wash if it's not done correctly. It can be fixed but not by hand, it will need to be machine polished. Do a search on swirl marks and Adam's products. The products are fantastic and be sure to watch the training how to videos on the Adam's website. Once you watch them you'll feel much better about your paint. All is not lost.

Hand polish will not work. You need to machine polish...head over to Adamsforum.com and study up before you decide what to do. The dealer will probably just make it worse.

Also....don't get too worked up over it...I know it looks bad, but it can be fixed.

First of all, most dealers apply a wax with a rotary polisher, and most dealers (and body shops) don't have a clue how to use these machines.

Those don't look too bad and I wouldn't be concerned about any removal of clear coat.

The only way to fix the paint is going to be to machine polish it. You can learn to do it yourself or hire a quality detailer to do it for you.

Yowza! Yep... swirl marks.

For a second there I thought I was looking at a black stripe on a white car, and was about to say you were in for a fight, but took a second look and realized thats the black paint.

As others pointed out you will need a machine to fix it, but the good news is its not that hard to do.

Sorry to see this but the swirl masters had struck again. By doing it yourself you can accomplished in removing them swirls and maintain your Camaro to the standards you want and be the hit where your at. BTW forget the dealer and give your ride what it deserves. It will thank you.

If you have a good wax job the drops will race off the paint,I use a carwash that has wax in it so every time you was it the wax is applied.
