It's still good to know our cars are fast for their weight per hp though.

Hmmmmm
It's strange that this thread would have turned into a pros and cons argument about the value of a pulley when in fact, the purpose of the thread was to describe the steps to install one (if you decided you wanted one!). I would assume that, if you didn't want to install one, you wouldn't even have read it. Just sayin'! Since the process isn't that difficult, I am considering installing one on my car. If there were problems as some have suggested, I'm sure you could reinstall your factory pulley...simple as that!

anyone know where I can get on install tool? the one the local auto convenient store loans isn't long enough, nor does it have enough threads engaged. I've looked around for some all-thread, but all I can find is a 3-foot piece for $20. I'll gladly buy a tool fit for the job someone already made and/or used and resell.
Thanks,

I had UDs for 7 years on my Camaro without any cooling problem/voltage/anything. One thing is well known though; stock LS1 car alternator were trash from GM. Upgrading them to a stock truck unit is a must. UDs are a must when you wanna squeeze out the most out of your car. Plus the price is hard to beat for a proven 5-9rwhp. Old post ..whatever!
