Something like that. It doesn't appear to be serious serious - like 1 qt every 3k miles I think is the average...

Even though I was leaning more towards the 6, might this be a reason to possibly go for the 8?
I did go to a couple of Cadillac forums and there are many people talking about the DI 3.6 burning oil.

I dunno... compared to a total oil capacity of 7.6 qts, it doesn't seem all THAT bad to me... I mean, obviously I'd rather it didn't do it, but I think its just something we'll have to live with. Of course, they could have corrected it by the time we buy our cars.

And if they haven't corrected it yet, I'm just going to have to start driving with a qt. of oil in the glove box. Nothing is going to stop me buying this car.

I think an RS V6 with a manual and limited slip should be very nice and quick. Like 0-60 in 5.5 seconds and the 1/4 in low 14's. Thats what my brother wants. He says the DI 3.6 in a great engine. I personally will get the LS3 manual SS. Burning oil during the first 10,000 miles shouldn't be a big deal. Heck, go read about BMW's. They burn alot of oil.

Well since the earliest I am likely to get my Camaro is November 2009, I have time to wait and see if the Camaro has the same oil burning problem or if it has been fixed.

I'll be getting this engine, to me its a prefect blend of power and mpg, and I like the V6 front end better, so the all-important coolness factor once again has an impact on my selection!
