I would be very disappointed if my black Camaro arrives with orange peel. But, my buddy is my detailer and he does a great job. So long as he can take care of it, I won't complain.

My black SS paint doesn't seem to have the amount of orange peel that the black dealer V6 car had. I had the two together Monday at the dealership. Also as time goes by the peel will become less with passing of time and buffing/waxing.

Even the new Corvettes i saw last week on the dealer's floor had what I'd consider excessive orange peel.

You kind of lost some credibility when you mentioned silver. Silver is just the most plain color you can have on a car. It just makes your car invisible. You can talk abut lines all you want but the fact is you put a silver camaro on the street next to a red or black camaro the silver car might as well not be there. I remember when I got my mustang a few years back someone on my block had a silver mustang. Both cars would be parked on the street. I would sit out and watch people walk past and not notice the silver mustang but their eyes would get drawn to the red mustang. I was amazing how you have the same model car but one looked plain and old. The silver car looked dull. It was pointless to try to wax and wash it hoping it would shine. It never did. It was a new car that looked like it had years on it simply because of its boring color.

Also on the next black someone parked a silver viper on the street. I almost walked pass it and I noticed no one else even realized a they were walking past a Viper either. I was the only one who gave it a second look. That would never happen with a shiny black or Red Viper. Especially in that area. Silver is just plain and dull. There is no shine to that color. I am happy there are people who think Silver is a decent color because it makes the cars others pick stand out.
I totally disagree. I had a 2000 ss with chrome zo6 wheels & chrome accents & every where I went I got compliments. Next to black, silver would be my second choice. Like MrIcky said if you dont like the silver camaro you probably not too fond of silver at all.

Can we PLEASE leave the "Silver's better", "Black is better" bickering behind?

To each their own, whatever color choice they make.

The Camaro is beautiful, WHATEVER COLOR IT IS PAINTED!

Thanks Moose !!!

I ordered Black, but Silver IS an awesome color. Why do you think all of the early prototypes and THE prototype unveiled Jan 2006 were all Silver? Because it looks incredible. The majority of the advertising material (All of the info we got from Ed Peper) had a silver Camaro too.

Bottom line - this car looks good in ANY color.

The one thing I didn't like was the excessive orange peel in the paint. It might be just this particular Camaro, but the orange peel was a bit excessive in the black paint of the one I sat in today. Have others here noticed the Orange peel in the paint being a bit much?

You're sick. I seen a Black one in person and that thang looked nasty. Silver is also nice but all those other bright colors are not for me. But that black paint with those RS wheels and the HID lights with the halos is gonna have that joint looking vicious. Especially at night.

It would appear the answer is "no"---

Come on, it's at least better than the daily Mustang vs Camaro and Toyota was designed by Satan threads isn't it?

If anyone actually takes this debate seriously then . Clearly Orange-Peel was caused by the Current Administration amiright? (<----That was a joke)

The Camaro in silver is the only silver car I would probably ever consider getting. I probably won't get SIM, but it's definitely one of my favorites on this car. On most cars, I hate silver, but like I said, it looks amazing on the new Camaro.

This thread is about "orange peel" not color. Start your own thread if you insist on bashing any color, yes, even SIM. Good manners dictate that I not express how I really feel.
