Coilover question... Pedders

I was looking at buying PEDDERS XA COILOVER KIT. I haven’t seen a whole lot on the install. My question is will I have to drill a hole in the truck for them? I read where if you install the BC coilovers you have to drill a hole in the trunk to get to the adjustment knob.

No, no drilling hole in trunk. To adjust the rears you need to lay on your back behind the rear wheels and reach up to the top of the strut where the upper spring mount is to turn the knob for adjustments. You do have to drill a small hole in the upper spring mount which bolts to the body so a short piece of cable attached to the shock adjuster with a knob on the end which is your rear shock adjuster. The instructions show exactly where (via measurements) the hole is drilled in the upper shock mount so the cable can pass thru. My XA's have been installed at least 6 or 7 years I believe, no issues.

Thanks!! Sounds like I need to just sit tight till they come back in stock and scoop some up. I'm trying to only have to do all my suspension work once. I already have new trailing arms, toe links, and solid rear cradle bushings waiting.

The Strange coilovers have the adjustment knobs at the bottom. No drilling at all. Those are the ones that come with the BMR drag suspension. Very easy to reach and adjust with just a floor jack.

I have Pedders coil overs. The rears have a cable extension that comes with the kit so you don't have to drill holes. They are very nice imo. I've been on them for almost 3 years now.

Just like he said, when you take everything apart you'll need to drill holes in the upper shock mount. It's hard to adjust without having the car up.

If you have an older car, look into which version of the shock mount you have. The 1LE cars got a redesigned version and then later they put it on other cars. How you mount up the shock mount to the pedders coil over changes depending on which type you have - that goes for the front and rear if I remember right.
