After owning both M6 and A10

I can truly say that both cars are special in their own right. And to be clear, they both offer completely different driving experiences. Buying one over the other does mean you are completely missing out on the other car. Having the M6 and breaking it in the car felt very strong. In comparison to my 2013 it felt somewhat stronger.

My wife could not drive the manual and it prompted me to include her in this amazing driving experience. So when I found an amazing deal on this A10, I pulled the trigger and all I can say is OH BOY! (I really said more than that, but trying to keep this post clean)

If the M6's acceleration is fierce, then the A10 is down right brutal and disrespectful. It's hard for me to believe that the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times between the two aren't wider then what has been published. In track mode the A10 is the stuff dreams are made of. I can't believe it's the same car and I really enjoy the manual, but this car to me feels effortless in its abilities...Not to mention I averaged 27 mpg on a 50 mile run. I can see why so many have been clamoring for it. What a car!! It's great that we have choices.

Did you pick that one up from Stonebriar? And did they give you a good deal? I was thinking about the white one they have sitting up there although I love the grey.. You can PM if you want. Thanks

Posts like this keep me second guessing myself.

I had a 94 Z28 6 speed manual and am looking to get another manual but this A10 has me rethinking everything. This will not be a DD and will have to put it up for the winter.

It's really that much better? From your description it's a totally different beast.

I know there are the hardcore M6 guys but I wonder if they drove the A10 like you have, they would make the switch.

I KNOW different cars!!
First 2 weeks I was like shit this auto is pretty good, I can used to this.
Week 3, I'm BORED. That's how I decided to get the M6. LOL

Not only are they different cars.. they're entirely different automatics.

I have an A8 and an A10.. They're much, much different animals.

Oh, I hear ya different animals.

Where I am in FL, ZERO traffic!! If I still lived in NY I would have gotten the A10 without question.

So many open roads here, I just got bored not shifting.

I contemplated getting an M6, when I couldn't get an allocation for the A10. Now, after driving the A10 for 2000 miles, I'm glad I was persistent and waited. When I want to cruise around, I put in drive and it does its thing - always has the right gear. When I want to be more engaged, I switch over to manual mode and ratchet the gears when I want (prefer it better than the paddles). With the rev-matching its almost like having a manual, but no clutch to worry about.

I said this before, I told myself I would never get an automatic Muscle car. But now that I have the A10, I don't think I could ever go back to a manual. I mean, this thing makes everything soo effortless. You don't even have to punch it most times, just tap it and it's ready to blast off. I can't say enough good things about it. I had two M6 trans Muscle cars that I traded for the A10 ZL1 and it was the best thing I did!!

I went from a manual SS to a 15 ZL1 auto and never liked the feel of the A6. Kinda took the fun out of driving the car. Now I have a 17 ZL1 A10 and I love it. The fun is back! The gate shifter is pretty cool too. Much better than the paddles for me.

Yes I did!!! I used GM employee pricing which took like 5k off the car and then there were a few thousand in incentives. Made out like a bandit. And you are right, there is a white automatic still on the floor last I checked and like mine, the only options it is missing are the exposed carbon fiber hood and sunroof. You can add the hood later at least..

Nice.. I wish more of this area was like that. We have a lot of toll parking lots here.
