Got another ticket in Texas

Ok. So I have admitted fault and accepted all of my tickets. Have been able to keep them off my record but one. I deserved every one of them. All Ten plus over the limit.

Was going to Houston this weekend and kept my cruise set for 6 mph over the limit. It was all night driving and was very little traffic. Texas Trooper pulls me over. And writes the ticket. :(

Now I can accept the consequenses of my driving 6 over but damn. 6 over? Really? I thought he could have given me a break. I had the cruise set for that since I didn't think anyone would pull me over for 6 over. Guess it's my bad luck.

Dude comes to the window and the FIRST thing out of his mouth is "What's the hurry, is there a medical emergency?" I should have said "Dude, if there was an emergency, you wouldn't have caught me. Your buddies up the road would have had to". But I just said NO, I'm just cruising with my speed set to 71.

He says, "Well it's 65 mph here so the citation will be speeding".

Yes. I was speeding. Bonnie says "Don't feel so bad. So you got kinda hosed on this one. Just think of all the times you did 20 over and never got caught. You're still ahead"

Damn the irony.

I deleted them per Junkies request in the other thread.

I wanted to start a legit thread and do a test at the same time.

Out of state plate...

Thats why you got jacked. Likelyhood of you fighting very slim.

Being ticketed for 6 over is pathetic. I have NEVER written for anything less than 15 on the freeways and 10 on surface streets.

That officer is a confirmed a-hole if what you said is correct.

Also be aware that in most states there is no points (fine only) if within a specified mph. In Michigan, I usually write 60 in a 55 with true speed in the remarks. That way, no points, but if they fight it, I have their 81 in a 55 noted.

Yeah, it kinda sucks, but hey, it's a speed limit, not a speed suggestion, and you gotta draw the line somewhere.

Actually answering the original post,

I don't think it was the out of state plates......theTexas DPS are really strict around the holidays, and it was a holiday weekend. They pretty much always have been, and probably always will be.
