We are not NYC ,we are not LI, and we are not "Upstate" ! We are LOHUD C5

Those of us just North of NYC in Rockland, Orange, Westchester and Putnam (we will extend the olive branch to Northern Bergen) counties are too often lumped into the “downstate” or “NYC” sub categories by our neighbors to the North and lumped in the “Upstate” category by those to our south. The problem is were not driving our immaculate cars to or through the awful roads of NYC to get to Long Island and were certainly not willing to put the miles on or donate the time to head truly upstate. The Lower Hudson Valley offers some of the best cruising and meetup spots in the State.

Let’s use this thread to gather all our LOHUD C5 buddies, arrange cruises, and discuss local shows/events in the Lower Hudson Valley. I look forward to meeting up and planning some cruises through Harriman State Park & Bear Mountain this summer and fall. Who knows, maybe the “LOHUDC5” will stick and we can eventually start up our own Camaro Club chapter

Took a few photos in Cheesecote Mountain Town Park located in Haverstraw NY ,my hometown. Located just off exit 14 on the PIP, this park is minimally maintained but offers areas to BBQ and some fishing. The access road has recently been paved so no worries of pot holes or speed bumps. Would be a good venue for a private meetup of around 8-15 cars. While the location may be a little boring, the privacy aspect is good for avoiding summertime city tourists in the LOHUD region.

Who's got some suggested meetup locations in the Lower Hudson Valley ?

How about a good Sunday Cars and Coffee local spot ?

weather looks a bit iffy for me right now. Slim Chance i might get up there this evening. People forget how to drive in the city when it rains a little.....

I'm most likely heading up to Watkins Glen for the Upstate C5 watkins Glen trip on Sept. 24. If anyone is interested in making the hike with me let me know !

Read this tread awhile back and like you I have been trying to keep my eyes open for possible local members, I'm up in Orange County. This Glen trip sounds like a good idea, let me see what I can do to make this. In response to your earlier posts, I don't get the chance to make it to Bear Mountain but I do try to get to the RJR Car Show at Pennings Orchard on Thursday nights in Warwick, NY.

Thanks for your efforts with LOHUDC5. I will get my nephew in here he just bought a 2015 SS also.

Great to hear ! I found a thread yesterday in the archives that leads me to believe i am not the first person to attempt the Hudson Valley C5 but hopefully LOHUDC5 can stick ! Im taking small bribes for the open Vice President position

I will keep you posted on the Watkins Glen Trip. Im looking to package the weekend so i can visit family in the area stay at an Air bnb and hit watkins glen. If i bring my dog, i will have to trailer the car so logistics are complicated at the moment lol

This date falls on my vacation time.... so I wouldn't see what I won't be able to make it.

And if the weather hold out, I plan on being at BM this 31st.
