2200R is a YSi with a billet case.

Us PD blower guys don't have quite the same issue with the TB as the Turbo/Centri guys. Our TBs always see vacuum, whereas they see positive boost pressure. Not that I'm condoning the use of cheapo parts, just saying...

Small set back

Had a dyno appt on Saturday June 27th, so I went to fill up on Friday. Somehow I managed to hit the fuel tank fill hole at the gas station and it bent a header. It seemed to be fine, but once it cooled down and i started it up saturday it was leaking pretty bad. Gave me a good scare. The sound was so loud i thought i broke a VS or rocker or lifter. It was just the flange at the head leaking. I guess the FED o-ring gaskets were burned on the ride home.

Dont wanna take any chances with the flange not seating correctly, so I grabbed a new set of Texas Speed 2inch LTs. Now I just need to weld a 3 bolt flange to each header, weld in a wideband bung and I should be ready. New exhaust port o rings already came in.

That was about a $1000 lesson.

Dyno results

Finally got the tune squared away with Ted and put it on the dyno.

I was surprised at the results. The SOTPs meter could have sworn it was 1000whp, but I guess that could be from the extra 70wtq I picked up. I have to remember it has a heavier rotating assembly which can eat up power but take more abuse.

Since this motor has lower compression (10.3:1), a different cam and really well flowing heads, I lost 5psi of boost from the G3X. and we all know boost is torque... boost starts to flatline around the same time torque starts to fall off. It's apparent that the G3X is a perfect fit for the 376 motor, but we might need a bit more airflow to take advantage of the 427 with FED M311 heads. See how the older dyno graph has power and torque continuing to climb most of the run? Thats because boost was still linear. With the next size up blower, I think it will make 1050ish.

I can definitely say its much faster even though the (current) gains seem minimal. We'll see when I can get to track. The same blower/fuel combo made 913/787 on the stock LS3 (with cam/exhaust/ect).

The TMS 427 is an amazing platform that I plan to abuse with various Forced Induction systems for years to come. Next up is the ESS Tuning G4X blower with the smallest pulley I can find. I hear it might be heading my way in a week or so!

It was 105 degrees in the dyno room today. No meth.

Also want to say that the DSX Triple fuel Pump assembly did not disappoint. badass little unit. I say everyone should email dave@dsxtuning.com and ask about the triple pump assembly, hahahh maybe he will put that thing into production already. I hear he's making a boost reference FPR with some super duper high tech springy thing to give more exact 1:1 ratio or some techincal crap like that. Waiting for mine to ship. Go on instagram and hassle him about it. He loves DMs (and whiteclaw)

To be continued.

Max boost we hit was 16ish. Saw 20.5 on the old setup.

NICE!!!!

The coolest thing to me about your dyno graphs: between 3500 and 5500, you're about 100hp higher than you used to be, and then the blower runs out of steam. Put enough huff into it, and I bet you'll see 1100.

Very cool to see this coming together, and super glad you didn't hurt those beautiful M311's when the header went "crunch."

Thanks Rob. Thats exactly what ESS said: 1100 with the G4X shouldnt be a problem.

Im right there with you. So glad the heads and bolt holes were fine. Just a gasket swap, new headers, and a trip to my exhaust guy. Bout $1000 **** up. Beware the gas station tanks!!!

It does. Sometimes it needs a little throttle input (more air), but since I have Hp Tuners I'll just keep adding a little airflow to the startup airflow tab until I get it right.

It is slow. No traction, weak axles, cant 60’, and under powered for where it should be.

But im always up for a 60 roll.
