It's ok looking. I wish it had the tactile HVAC controls instead of the onscreen ones. These are available from multiple vendors on Aliexpress https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000184799371.html

I'd try it out if it wasn't soo expensive.

I wish they still had knobs for HVAC controls as well, but it looks rather interesting. I wonder who has tried this before.

I like my HVAC controls like I like women - with big, grabbable knobs.

I’d rather go with the Maestro idatalink with a trusted brand HU before I’d risk Alibaba stuff if I didn’t care about knobs.

It's very nice visually, looks clean. I have been running a Chinese quad core Android head unit with a Scosche CanBus setup for a couple years. The problem with sets like this is that they are kinda underpowered for 2020 when it comes to software and hardware.

Mine is 2 years old and can't be updated past Android 8.0 reliably, and that requires quite a bit of knowledge on flashing custom ROMs to the head units. The CPUs and RAM also leave a lot to be desired. Once I get the funds I will ditch my Android and go with a Maestro kit and iDatalink compatible head unit.

The upside is that you can run damn near everything software wise that is compatible with Android on these head units. They are basically Android tablets with AM/FM tuners built in. Some have advanced CanBus features as well.

The vendor on eBay is almost $300 higher than aliexpress too...

by time you buy on Ali Express, shipping and Tariffs the price will be almost the same. Plus, its the Chinese version. Good luck getting a warranty exchange from china.

Why did I buy a Gen 5 and love it and that goes to the stereo? Cus it's all old school. Don't want all that fancy screen. If I want it louder, 4 Robert Fosgate amps will do it

I got a 1SS because I felt the same way, but when I got my daughter a 2SS, the HUD was really nice to have. The rest of it...meh.
