I installed the leftcoast32 front crash bar and it was simple. I then put a tow hook in the threaded section they provided on the lightweight bar. Thank god i did that mod, because i had to use the tow hook last year mid summer when my clutch positioning sensor took a dump. Had to have the car towed home. Lucky i was only 4 miles from the house.

Here ya go! My car has weight reduction so the weight at the time of this pic was 3630 lbs...You can see the car at 45* on the flat bed and only the tow hook holding the weight...My buddy was there with me and when we hooked the car to the truck line he said " is that hook thing going to hold?" I replied "well I believe so, but were gonna find out now for sure!" The tow hook held like a champ. Ended up with a slight marking on the top and bottom of the loop from the trucks attachment line connector but its barley noticeable.. I dont mind the markings on it now as it allows me to show people looking at the car the tow hook works. In the pic, that is me steering it on truck from outside car as truck driver worked the winch. No one in the car working brakes or nothing. I was a little worried but the truck driver said they work. The 2 bottom pics were when i first installed it and before the testing evening month later.

Thanks Jay for the post and proof of pictures. Are the tow hooks from ZL1 addons?

Are there any towhooks for the ZL1 that aren't made by ZL1Addons?
I do not have an access hole in the black portion of my bumper and the crash bar is not threaded from the factory. I have a crashbar with threads but they will line up with the center of the painted bumper. Not punching a hole there.

You’re going to be drilling a hole. We all had that same problem too.

Mine is not the ZL1 addon's brand. I wanted a camera mount on mine so I bought mine from eBay that is not much different but far cheaper in price. I could have gotten the zl1 brand but didn't want to spend the money on something I knew I was only going to use the red loop part from it, so the eBay one seemed the better choice.

I compared the one I bought on eBay to a friends tow hook who has the ZL1 addon brand one and as far as the red hook loop part; they are pretty equivalent. We did the comparison once it was delivered and before I was certain that I would use it. It cost $29.99 and i think shipping was free or $5. I took a gable when I ordered it because i was not sure how solid the red loop would be, but when it arrived and we compared it to the zl1 brand, we learned its solid. It is definltly solid for sure once i actually had to test it on the day I had to tow it..LOL. "That evening sucked by the way"... The one i got from eBay i was only interested in the red loop portion even though it came with a rod and connector.

I then fabricated the center connector with the camera connector tabs that ties the red hook loop and the main threaded rod that goes into the threaded connector on the Leftcoast32 lightweight front crash bar.

In those pictures i posted was when i first finished it. It worked great but i decided i wanted a little angle options with the camera, so I later ordered a aluminum multi direction little arm that allowed the camera to be about 1inch away from the actual bumper and allows the camera to pivot in more orientations. I can post a picture if you guys need of the little adapter i put on after, just let me know..

I have the bar with a threaded hole. I put it on the car but it does not line up. I would have to drill a hole through the painted bumper. I want a tow hook that goes through the grill.

The threaded crash bar only works with the 14-15 front end, not the zl1 front end.

Correct, the 14-15 SS refresh front end. Since the 14-15 ZL1s had the older front end the grill openings will not line up.
