A real ship your car question

So watching top gear from last night and they hit the autobahn and nurburgring. I thought to myself that really is a bucket list item for me but I would want to take my camaro not just pick up a car there. Now I know in my lifetime, unless I hit the lottery, I will never be able to go. However if you had the money and time to take your car over seas would you do it?

Shipping your car across the ocean can't be cheap. It's considered a Dangerous Good and it is also a potential Marine Pollutant, 49 CFR and IMDG rules apply. It will have gas and oil and coolant and gear oil and brake fluid. Even residual amounts are a red flag.

No, not IMDB, IMDG- International Maritime Dangerous Goods.

That's why I said if time and money wasn't a concern.

I can't see how it would be, Ive just shipped a 2014 camaro 2ss from Oklahoma via Houston Port to the UK, sending it to Germany instead wouldn't cost that much different. 3 weeks shipping time, £3000 shipping cost (one way), so not impossible and is just a car, so can be shipped anywhere.

Shipping a car to Germany is easy. Fluids are allowed as is 1/4 tank or less of gas. I shipped my Camaro here (I am in Germany) last year for about $1,600 including insurance. If you are not military related and coming over here you may have to pay import taxes and registration.

I was going to say the military does it all the time so it can't cost all that much.

My friend just had his vehicle shipped to HI from Cali. They lost it and it took an extra month to receive his vehicle. They told him he was lucky when it finally got to port because several vehicles had fallen off the ship from a storm.

Myself and my friend are planning on going. We've currently purchased go pros to film our entire experience on the bahn. Unfortunately we aren't going until Germany has their summer again, but at least it gives us time to plan our entire trip because we wanna check out the small European roads too! Not only that, I think the Europeans will get a kick out our super loud american cars.

They seldom do........

Not sure if I'd ship my Camaro or not. Sure, it'd be fun, but the RISK of the car getting whacked/damaged/lost/stolen may be too much for me to bear. Imagine after paying to ship the car, then it gets "lost" somewhere along the way. Sure, insurance may pay up, but you're still out a lot of loot to pay for shipping a car that no longer exists for you.
