I'm quite a bit older than you and I still get the same comments. Truth is, I love hp and performance and would love to have a SS or ZL1 and could have afforded it but I bought my car for a work car. Yes I could have bought a 4 banger and got even better milage but I wanted something that got reasonable milage and had good looks and decent performance. I have other toys to satisfy my performance itch when neccesary so I opted for the 6. No regrets here, it looks good, it's a pleasure to drive, and gets decent milage on 87* fuel. Buy what fits your application and current situation. jes my .o2

If youre asking now, just save up and get the SS. If you want a V6 and will be happy with one, you wouldnt need to ask. |

Slow v6

It's all about your budget. The RS is nice just missing the 8. I got it because it gets twice the full mileage, its my DD, and restraining myself from that power to save some money by not speeding MORE then i do. You only know the real answer, but if you see all the 6'ers, you will notice nobody has a stock one, and the FI is starting to set it.

As others have said its up to you for myself I opted for the V6 it's my Daily Driver I did not want the SS for a Daily Driver other wise it would be sitting in the garage next to my 01 Z/28 as a trailer/garage queen.
If you can live with out the extra 100ish HP go for the V6 if you Must have that extra HP go for the V8 you cannot go wrong with any trim level on the Camaro they are all great. Sean

If you want a car with plenty of power for just about any imaginable situation, reasonable to insure, easy on the gas, great looks and leaves you with enough money to buy food, get the V6. If you have to have the fastest car in your county, without regard to cost, get the V8.

If you can afford the SS, get it! Just remember that a lot of people are trading up from a V6 to the SS and not too many are trading down.

2. Better suspension 3. Mail slot 4. Brembo brakes 5. Bragging rights 6. Not having to deal with, "why didn't you get the V-8". RS is a trim level, not a model. SS is a model that you can add the RS trim package to. |

As the others have said..
V6 Plenty of power Better gas mileage probably cheaper insurance All around great DD V8 More power Prestige Bragging rights worse gas milage requires 91-93 octane gas higher cost higher insurance Note: the SS at least comes with soft compund summer tires. If you want to drive it in the cold winter weather, you should invest in another set of tires for winter driving. |
