Flat Aftermarket Hood Available?
is there a flat hood available for purchase from any aftermarket vendor? One without the hideous and idiotic faux scoop? I hate that thing man! This car would look so godlike without it I swear. If you could take off the faux scoop this car (fifth gen) immediately becomes a classic. There has to be someone who makes a hood without it. A flat hood!!! any links to products will be eternally grateful.

Huh? What are you talking about? Do you mean the mailslot that is on the bumper? There is no "faux scoop" on the OEM camaro hood.
If you don't like the mailslot then you have a bunch of options: 1) SLP mailslot delete insert 2) V6 front fascia 3) Rideskinz front fascia 4) ZL1 front fascia |

no...not the mail slot. I'm talking on the top of the hood. I call it a faux scoop because thats sort of what it is. The raised part of the hood. Is there any aftermarket hood that is simply flat, without that raise?
first car. flat hood. no faux scoop. |

I hate to tell you, but having the cowl hood is what makes it "classic".

yeah id say its part of the heritage thus making it classic. flat hoods look good on imports an exotics not muscle cars.

You'd probably have to get someone to fabricate that kind of hood. Since you drive a Hyundai, you probably don't have a need for a flat Camaro hood anytime soon.

so there is no hood without the cowl? I dont think it makes it look classic at all as the original camaro didn't have one. It makes it look like it was purchased at a wallmart instead of a car dealership. its the one thing holding the car back.

Just take a big hammer to your hood and start pounding away. Eventually it will be flattened out. You may need a new paint job though. :troll:
BTW- nice first post on the forum. Welcome to Camaro5. |

it would just look so sweet without it. It would look like a more mature car, not something a 16 year old got for his birthday. Of all the poseur cars, or eh, pony cars, the camaro I think has the most potential to be a sophisticated drivers car for adult drivers and they are so dirt cheap its ridiculous.
for a prospective buyer and track day participant, would you say the camaro handles better than the other pony cars atleast? |
