Go with the shielded ceramic bearings. The bearings need to be abec 5 or 7. The size is 6003. You'll never have the issue again.

mine on the left a little larger 6203 bearing, not by much( those bearings were only for sizing and mockup) , IPF on the right 6003 bearing. my new ceramic bearings too...

There is alot of force on these tiny pulleys. Should go back to old school. zerk fittings and grease them every month. That will give you an excuse to clean the engine bay. haha

Boy, would it ever. Could you imagine the grease and dirt line under the hood from that?

I don't think it's so much the force on the pulleys as it is the speed and resulting heat that zaps 'em. They don't influence the belt direction so much as guide it to some extent. They have to really be singing at engine RPM's of 7K+, being that small.

To replace the belt, you'll have to unbolt the front half of the supercharger from the rear bracket. It's all done with Allen head fasteners and is pretty easy. Refer to the installation instructions to route the belt correctly and then bolt everything back together, reinstalling the idler pulleys in the process.

When I spoke to Andy he seemed to indicate it may be possible to replace the bearings and spacers without a press- any other opinions on a DIY from anyone?

Also John, I'm guessing if we're lucky enough to get this done before a pulley seizes and breaks the belt, you don't need to disassemble the supercharger from the bracket. Just remove the tension, then pull off the pulley's, upgrade'em and return the belt to the proper route. Correct?

Right on all counts, Ventmaster.

And sure, you can do all of the removal/install stuff at home with your own "press." You can make one with a shop vise and use a socket to press on one side and a socket on the other side to hold and catch what you're pressing out. Just pick the appropriate sized sockets to contact with the proper places and let the vise do the work. In a pinch you could try using a c-clamp, but I wouldn't think that would be the best route.

Put the pullys in the freezer. Warm the outside with a hair dryer and oush the cold bearings out same for install. Freeze bearings and out pulkys in oven at 200 degrees slip them in. .

I, uh, got my replacement bearings via UPS today. I was sent an email last week asking for my address because they wanted to send me a new set. What am I gonna say, "No?"

They'll go in the glove box for now.
