Installed 14-15 SS hood vent on my 2012 today

Got my template made and all the hardware I needed for the install over the course of two days. Taped everything up and I measured about 19 times. Then had my father check. Then had my cousin check measurements. After adjusting the template a million times I finally committed and traced out the line and got to cutting.

Very nice work. Looks really good....

I hope you don't mind I rotated some of the photos so they were easier to see... If you wanted them the way they were, let me know and I'll switch them back...

They’re perfect. Thank you. They all were straight when I uploaded. Then twisted when I submitted the thread

It does look awesome. Very nice job. Do you have a drain pan installed also? I put the ZL1 look alike in mine. Had mine tapped up for a month and wrote across the hood. You ain't got the ball's to cut me. Did you remove the hood to cut it?

That’s what I keep getting told. Really wasn’t hard. After drilling no the first hole you know you’re committed and makes he rest of the job easier. Plus he cut doesn’t have to be 100 percent exact. There’s room for error

Gunna order the pan next week. Not worried about rain hitting the engine while it’s not moving. Plus there isn’t much rain called for here anyways this week

looks good! i did mine too and that first cut made me so nervous. but as you said once you make the first hole or cut you're committed.

i don't run with the tray during the spring, summer, and fall. i do install it in the winter to help keep things a little more toasty under the hood

How often do you drive in rain? My car pretty much never sees rain while driving other than being parked. So not to sure how worried I should be about water in there.
