Anyone ever seen this on a Camaro?
Gated shifter are I think one of the best cosmetic items that supercars use to come with. I can only think of the Audi R8 that still has it. Was curious, if anyone has ever seen a camaro with this type of shifter. I've a seen countless different shifters, but never something this unique.

I have no idea why some people are so repulsed by gated shifters. To me, they are a thing of beauty, in addition to eliminating any question as to what gear the thing is in.
(edit: Sorry, my post made it sound like Dantemcc was not a fan of gated shifters, which is clearly not the case. I was simply referring to comments that I read and hear frequently, from people who just can't stand gated shifters. They want them gone, gone, gone, and most people would apparently not even dream of eliminating a booted shifter for one with slots. Not me... I'd love a gated shifter, and the one pictured above would be awesome, little prancing horse or not!) |

Because we're Americans. We don't need no stinkin' gated shifters!

I have never driven a car with a gated shifter, but I always felt like they would slow the shifting down. You know, the shortest distance between two points is a straight line, not an up, over, and up line!

Agreed, would be like trying to play with an Etch-a-Sketch while driving.

I have and havent had any issues with it. Think it would be something unique to see. But, to each their own.

First thing I thought when looking at that picture was damn that 2nd to 3rd shift would be a bitch to do quickly.

Looks like a pretty long throw between gears. At least the one in that pic anyways.

You would have to pay attention if it was in a V6 or V8, the reverse position is on the opposite side. Gates and a cassette player, hand in hand!
