Alright so I ordered the Howards asa cam with chromoly push rods. I've been told it doesn't need new springs as it's only a .525 lift cam, but I can get the ls6 Springs for about 50 bucks new. Should I go ahead and get these springs or just leave it at the push rods? Any benefit of these springs?

I would have went with a cam like the lunati. Why not run a .560 lift cam.
.525 is nothing, less than stock!.
My car went 11.40 like I said. Put down about 445-450 with headers and vararam intake.

My car has a much larger cam and ported heads now, for a street car that little cam was awesome.

Hmmm. I'm getting ideas about this Lunatic cam now. Sounds good. And I bet it will work fine with a stock converter? Didn't Mike Naleway run this little cam with great success before he got a GPI ?

Yea the howards cam appealed to me because it was the GM Performance Cam with more agressive feed ramps. I like the ease on the valvetrain, and the fact that some members were still putting down good power (~480 RWHP, ~440 RWTQ). Not to mention I was able to get everything needed for the cam, (7.4 Pushrods, Cam, Springs, Gaskets, and Sprocket) for about $550-600.

I will be installing next Friday, and will be getting dyno-tuned shortly after so I will update with results!

Damn, Those are awesome numbers for such a mild cam.

PLEASE post your results when all is said and done...and good luck!

Will do! I'm being pessimistic about the gains and am really only hoping for about 440 rwhp. If i get 480 I will be super happy but I doubt it. This is, if course with full mods.

Yea I wouldn't worry too much.

440RWHP on these cars is nothing to sneeze at. A lot of it comes down to the tune and how well it is tuned to the cam.

Man, would I love to hit 450rwhp...or 400 even.

Unfortunately, that's a costly venture in an L99.

I just looked at this again. Lol at myself. I think that is Mike Naleway . Looks like his car. If it's you, I want to know more about this little Lunatic Cam and how you liked it. Sorry to hijack your thread buddy.
