The gauge pack will be a dealer install option as well, this 2 pager is not covering any dealer install options. It does seem crazy not to offer at least one blue color for the SS.

Well that's good then because that tells me that the plug-in comes in every car and that we can install them ourselves.

No Blue Doesn't Make Sense

Logistically, I can't imagine what the difference a bare-bodied shell going down the line, destined to be an SS, would be any different than an LS or LT shell. As I understand it, when a car is done being sprayed, the guns are flushed and a new paint color is loaded up for the next shell in line. At least that's how it was described when my 83 was being built.

My understanding is that the rubber nose and tail parts are not painted at the same time as the body. They come pre-painted and are just screwed in place on the painted bodies as the come off the paint line.

Therefore, it seems to me that for some reason they are not willing to make or stock the SS noses in all 10 colors, so they deleted some colors from the SS.

It might have to do with the fact that they are forecasting the SS to be a much smaller percentage of total sales.

It seems that instead of not having some color available on the SS, they should have had some SS only colors, nothing really off the wall that no one would buy though.

Ditto.

They should've had colors like:

Matte Black
Sunburst Orange Metallic
Rally Green
Bone White
Laser Blue

there plans for a Z28 model?
A. The “Z28” moniker has an honored place in Camaro’s history. But as of now,
Chevrolet will not have a Z28 model available in the first production year.
Chevrolet continues to review market opportunities and does not comment on
future product plans.

Combined with Scott's earlier comment about the hallowed Z28, I can't help but believe the possibility is there. A lot depends on the economy and how well these new Camaros sell. Maybe a limited production with premium sticker price if there is enough interest shown. Those who desire a Z28, I am at least entertaining the idea if they come about, need to make ourselves heard on the forums. Particularly the Z28 forum. GM reads these forums, make enough noise and we could see limited edition at least, not this year, but maybe next year or two. Hi GM, I wouldn't mind a Z parked next to my SS. Wouldn't that be a sub 12 sec. quarter miler?

In these photoshopped recolored images, the aqua blue actually looks quite nice. I wonder if it looks like the blue on the 2009 Pontiac G8? I've seen that in person, and it's not quite bright enough for me, but is very nice.
