DRcolorchip

Well, I was a skeptic, but this works well in small chips,

I tried it on my 08 mazda 3 black met, and I would rate the repair at 85%.

Of course side chip repair is practically undetectable, top surface is OK, I will probably do it again tomorrow to fill in a bit more on those surfaces.

I have an IOM 2010 and bought the kit for that as well but won't touch that till winter when I do a complete paint "restoration"

Your review is spot on. I used this product on my SIM 2010 2SS, and was pleased with result. Much easier to work with than the OEM touch up paint.

Wish I had tried this first. OEM CGM paint is garbage.

I am another believer. Used it on my black SS.

No it isn't perfect, but its perfect from 5 feet away and definitely better than normal touchup paint.

Be sure to clean the areas completely with rubbing alcohol, it's the key to a good bond.....

+3, and don't panic about letting the paint smudge dry for a few hours before removing the smudge from your finish. Do not scrub with the releasing agent. Be patient, and let the releasing agent do the work.

All I've used for years - with patience, you can almost always get a near perfect repair. Great product!

You meant 24 hours, right (which allows touch-up paint to fully dry)?

For as long as the instructions dictate.

This is why people don't always experience positive results with detailing products. They don't follow the instructions to the letter, or they manipulate the instructions to fit what they want to do. This causes negative results with a product and a very good product ends up getting a bad rap from people who used it wrong.

I cannot stress the importance of following the instructions that are provided with this product to the letter. There is no need to question anyone here as to how to use the product if you have it sitting in front of you (not saying that this is the situation in this thread, I'm just saying). Before you do anything with this product, you should sit down and thoroughly read the instructions so that you will know exactly what the job consist of. That way, you will be able to fluidly move through the instruction without having to pause for reading.

Following the instructions is critical with this product. I cannot stress that enough.

Junkman is correct, altering the use of any product is usually a bad plan.
I have been waiting no longer than 10 to 15 minutes after applying, the instructions state 2 minutes to 2 hrs for proper use.

I 'm wondering what the result is waiting more toward the 2 hrs, does it result in a better fill? Or does it just use more sealact to remove the excess?

Waiting longer allows everything to set harder. The bigger the chip, the longer you definitely want to wait.
