How important is the RS option

I am a new member to Camaro5. I have been driving Corvetes for several years. I was at a show in Oklahoma City last week and there where a few camaros there. My wife (a mustang fan ) fell in love with the new camaro. So, I guess we are looking for one. I have found a 2011 model that is a 2SS with the colors and options she wants, but it is not an RS. I have read the options that come with the RS package and they dont seem to be that much. What do you camaro experts think?

The car stickers at 37015, what should I shoot for as far as price? I know they dont have as much room on these as they do alot of vehicles. Maybe I would be better off to find a 2010 with the RS package. I could probably buy the 2010 for about the same money as the 2011. Does the 2011 have any sustantail upgrades from the 2010?

Damn I am full of questions today.

All i know is the 2011 2SS & 2LT have the HUD on the windshield. And the RS is the appearance package. If it appeals to you and seems worth it, then get it. I'm sure the RS package will make your car just a LITTLE more rare/valuable in the future.

If you find a '10 equipped the way you want it, I'd go for it. The only difference I know of with the '11 is the HUD and higher price. On my '10 I just leave the center DIC on mph, and don't feel the need for a HUD. I had HUD on an '04 Z06 and never used it.

I like the RS on mine. Headlights, tail lights, body color roof moldings, midnight silver wheels... all stuff I like.

The only difference between 2010 and 2011 is is the 2011 2SS has HUD (Heads Up Display).

As for the RS package, imo yes the RS is very well worth it. The RS package comes with HID headlights and imo these is what makes it needed. This is up to personal taste as you'll get just as many people saying the RS package isn't worth the cost or needed as you will get people who will.

It depends on what you like. I don't like the RS package [oh, the agony!], as it is purely cosmetic, there is no added performance. I don't like HIDs, either. [Shriek!] You can't rotate the tires, and I like the look of the trunklid without the spoler. I didn't get stripes, either. [Gasp!]

My cars are about function, not form. That being said, my views on just about anything tend to be wildly unpopular.

"RS package" more rare? You're kidding, right?

I'm the exact opposite, I love the HUD and don't like driving cars without it.

I'd suggest test driving an '11 with HUD and '10 without it if you haven't used it before. It seems to be one of those love it or hate it features.

The RS package is important. It is a great add-on and it is very reasonably priced. I'd shoot for a '10 2SS/RS at around 35,000.

I wanted to be able to rotate my tires and those expensive (to replace) headlights do nothing for me.

The higher price? I could of sworn it was like only a $350 increase from the '10 to the '11 models.
