Hennessey performance and the warranty.

When I finally get my Camaro (2SS/RS Black) I will be handing it over to Hennessy ASAP. Have them do the HPE650 for me along with a few cosmetic upgrades. But will these changes ruin my warranty?

Check out Hennessey's website, I believe most of their packages have a 3yr 36,000mile warranty, with the smallest being 1 yr and 12K, but keep in mind I think some dont have a warranty as well....

Hennessy will only warranty the parts that the add or modify. So if the HPE650 still uses the LS3 or L99 and something happens to your engine you're on your own. They will cover your SC, headers and additional HP adders, but that is all. At least, that's my understanding. Some one correct me if I'm wrong.

Thank you for the post and look forward to working with you on improving the performance of your Camaro when it arrives. Our HPE650 Engine upgradem when installed at one of our authorized facilities, will come backed with a 1yr/12,000 mile warranty. Your factory 3yr/36,000 or 5yr/100,000 mile GM bumper to bumper warranty will still remain as well on the rest of your vehicle.

This is correct on our HPE650, HPE800 & HPE1000 Engine Upgrades. We still offer a full 3yr/36,000 mile warranty on our HPE475, HPE550 & HPE600 Engine upgrades.

Under our warranty agreement with our packages, we will cover all the items we install and the items related to those components if it is caused by our error. To date we have over 300 HPE550 or above Camaro's on the street with no issues and/or warranty issues. Also all consumers are protected by the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act as well if there becomes any additional concerns. Hennessey Performance works directly with our customer's local dealerships to make sure the vehicle, should it have a problem, is fixed in a very timely manner.

If anyone has any additional questions, please feel free to give me a call directly at the office. Look forward to speaking to you soon!

James

Wish I had an endless supply of cash for stuff like this. You know... instead of spending all that money, you could just donate it to me... for -the "John Shields Upgrade Foundation".

your GM powertrain will be out the window along with anything else they touch. Hennessey will cover their parts but if you drop a tranny or your LS3 blows up good luck getting GM or Hennessey to pay for it. Hennessey probably does great work and all, but when you start modifying stuff like this be prepared to fix all parts of the car by your self.

We work with all of our customers directly to quickly resolve any vehicle concerns. Transmissions are something that definitely need to be upgraded as you go higher up in the packages that we offer. If you try to throw 800hp at a stock transmission, it will fail. Our team has options to make sure the vehicle has the supporting upgrades to the transmission and driveline to support the power from our performance upgrade.

I have nothing but respect for you guys, but the question was regarding his GM warranty. Will his GM powertrain warranty be voided after you guys trick it out ?

As mentioned in a previous post in this thread, GM has the right to refuse the powertrain warranty of the vehicle, however they have to follow the guidelines listed under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. With our performance package upgrades that include our warranty, Hennessey Performance will follow the same guidelines as well based off the upgrades we have installed on the vehicle.
