I have some questions about the stock radio in my 2011 Camaro 1SS RS. (not the BA upgrade)

What are the specs ? How much output does it have ? Can I just replace the speakers with something nice for better sound (I don't need to broadcast it to the neighborhood). Would I have to add an amp? Would I have to replace the head (I don't want to if I don't have to)?

i would probably replace the speakers and install an amp. why not go in all the way? add a couple sub's while youre at it

i'm sure you can tie it all in without replacing the head unit.

While I haven't gone out and measured it, I'd guess the stock, non BA, head unit is going to be around 15-20wrms. Nothing huge, but it really doesn't have to be.

Replacing the speakers might help at upper volumes. However, replacing the source is usually the best option for sound quality, unless you add some sort of processing. The speakers are only as good as the signal they receive.
