Custom intake build.

Hey guys I am currently about to start work on design and building of my own cold air intake and have a quick question.

I am used to a MAP only system and havent really worked with MAF at all just wondering if the location of the sensor on a true cold air matters. The real question is can I leave the sensor in the stock location and pipe the filter into the well or do i need to extend the sensor down to right behind the filter?

Any help would be much appreciated.

And if anyone is interested it is going to be all aluminum 4 inch piping with custum aluminum Windshield fluid res.

Just make sure the interior diameter of the tube where the MAF is located is the same size as the stock piece. Otherwise just be concerned w/ turbulence as far as location.
